Sky Force Reloaded (2016) Wiki

Stage 5 is the most unique Stage in Sky Force Reloaded, famous for being able to be easily clear without the need for weapons. By default, a disabling energy barrier is striped across the screen at the start of the Stage.

Key Notes[]

  • Medals are earned for collecting Stars instead of destroying Enemies. Enemies can be destroyed for extra points, however.
  • Card 11 removes the energy barrier, in turn activating the missile launcher which deploys a EMP to pursue the player's Plane across the Stage, attempting to disable its weapons. The Holo Granny Technician is advised if attempting this, as the EMP follows the decoy instead.
  • Due to the nature of the Stage, Power-ups are unavailable at the start.
  • Only one Dispenser appears in this Stage, and that is the Mystery Dispenser.
  • No Shield, Mega Bomb or Laser is usually given even by breakage of crates, even with the three "to Begin With" Cards.
  • The crate right before the energy barrier/disabling field is always the one affected by Gringo Star.
  • There are a few effects the player can do on the EMP, such as slowing down its movement speed with the Technician Slo Mo Chan.

Enemies[]

Note that the enemies in this stage can be destroyed, only after the energy field is removed. However, this is optional, and destroying the enemies will not count towards any Medals.

Energy Barrier[]

Disarming Field

The unavoidable disarming field that extends across the screen horizontally.

Before obtaining Card 11, a plasma colored energy barrier is seen at the beginning of the Stage. The barrier absorbs all firepower and bullets coming from your Plane and inevitably disable its weapons for the rest of the level upon crossing it. This includes the inability to use Main and Wing Cannons, Missiles, Support Drones as well as Power-ups. Any unused Power-ups on board the Plane will be lost if it is disabled. The Tase MeBro and Holo Granny Technicians, if selected, are also inactive during so. The disabling effect does not deal damage and does not affect the Stay Untouched Medal.

EMP Missile[]

Acquiring Card 11 sends operations to destory the EMP Field and activates the launcher that releases the EMP missile instead, similar to Stage 5 of Sky Force Anniversary. It has the similar trait as an enemy projectile that chases down the Plane with great homing ability throughout, as well as the disabling effect shared with the EMP Field mentioned above. The Missile is indestructible by all means, including Mega Bombs activated by Burton Panic Technician and shockwaves from Iron Clad's supercharge. The Missile can make contact with and disable summoned Wingman Planes from cubes, but it does not actively seek them. As mentioned above, the Missile can be distracted by Holo Granny's decoys or be slowed by Slo Mo Chan.

The Missile is tough to deal with when there are survivors to rescue. If there are two or more survivors in close groups, attempting to rescue them all at once can severely limit the player's mobility and risk being hit by the Missile. In this case, the Ambulance Plane would be optimal for quick rescues.

Survivors[]

Stage 5 has a total of 18 survivors. Below are their locations in order:

Description Location
1st and 2nd survivors: located on opposite sides of the screen, in between the wreckage of Mantis Flying Fortress from Sky Force 2014. Stage 5 Human - 1, 2
3rd, 4th and 5th survivors: located as a group on the right side of the screen, near the platform of the first Energy Blaster Turrets. Stage 5 Human - 3, 4, 5

Notable Quotes[]

Stage 5 contains quotes said by the Operator and Scarlett Mantis. They play as follows:

"Disarming field detected. Passing through it will disable your weapons.

Try to make it through without them." - Operator; at the start of the Stage

"Hahaha, good luck now." - Scarlet Mantis; weapons disabled

"Woo-hoo! I won 20 bucks, thanks." - Operator; player dies

"Good job, we were betting if you could do it.

I've lost 20 bucks, but that's okay." - Operator; end of the Stage

Trivia[]

  • This is the only Stage where enemies do not drop Stars upon destruction, since doing so is not mandatory. Health Restore and Laser power-up items are still dropped from destroying them as usual.
  • This is also the only Stage where the blue and green-light Radial Cannons appear. Unlike their yellow and red counterparts whose attack patterns are modified from Anniversary, theirs remain the same from the prequel.
  • The Operator's unusual behavior in this Stage can be noted from her dialogue, and it can be told that she bets twenty dollars predicting the player will not pass. She proudly claims she wins back the money if the Plane is destroyed, and that it is lost otherwise.
  • The wreckages of the Flying Fortress, Mantis Gunship and Arachnotron, all Bosses from Sky Force Anniversary, can be seen throughout the Stage, which appear to be in severe disrepair and mostly coated by sand.
  • Burton Panic (Technician) "rarely" can activate power-ups that are not found in the Stage. His Mega Bombs and Energy Shields do not affect the EMP Missile, however.
  • Color-changing cubes can still spawn in this stage, allowing Wingmen to be summoned and absorb the EMP. This is quite hard to do, as the AI does recognize and will attempt to dodge the Missile.
  • With Slo Mo Chan, the EMP missile cannot make acute turns, making it possible to position your Plane so that the EMP harmlessly circles around you.
