Card 24 or Score Bonus, New Weapon for the Classic is a special Permanent Bonus Card that can only be obtained after obtaining every other Permanent Bonus Cards. Its most notable function is replacing The Classic's Main Weapon with a powerful laser whip.
In-game Description[]
The Command wishes to appreciate your persistence and battle performance by awarding you with a 10% score bonus.
The Research and Development team upgraded our basic fighter (The Classic) by replacing its main cannon with a mighty laser whip. Test it out in battle ASAP!
Function[]
Card 24 is only available for collect during Stages once all previous Cards are collected.
Once acquired, Card 24 will affect all Final Score of following playthrough by adding a 10% bonus to it, allowing previous records to be broken more easily.
The Card also affect the Main Weapon of The Classic plane, replacing it with a laser whip weapon and making the tip of the plane glow red. The thin and focus laser allows for more precision and damage when dealing with enemies at far distance unlike other planes with shotgun-like shooting patterns. The laser whip also has a piercing ability similar to the Laser power-up, allowing for a column of enemies to be damaged at once and is further enhanced using the Main Weapon Supercharge ability. On the mobile version of the game, the Support Drones would also now have a much faster fire rate and swing from top to bottom, discharging bullets in a curved pattern and help the plane deal with enemies on its side. On the PC and console version, the new Drones are acquired along with the previously collected Permanent Card 1 instead.
Strategy[]
When paired with Nightmare difficulty, this combo potentially results in the highest point achievable on every Stages.
The new laser whip weapon is perfect for swiftly eliminating fleets of Prop Planes which fly in a vertical direction, dangerous defenses shielded by others and Bosses' armaments arranged in a line thanks to its penetrating power. This ability is also helpful against some enemies possessing multiple hitboxes, such as the massive Bosses during their obliteration phase or the Nuclear Ballistic Missiles found on Stage B2, the latter of which appear to have up to four hitboxes aligned vertically. By charging the MWS module in short bursts, the player can enhance the damage and penetration of the laser whip even more while keeping the plane decently mobile.
