This page includes large Bosses found at the end of Stages. For the mini-boss enemies seen on Stage 4, 7, 12, B2, see Spider Walker, Heavy Defense Drone and Experimental Heavy Gunship.
Sky Force Reloaded features 11 key Bosses that the player encounters through the end of the Stage. Some Stages and all Tournaments do not have Bosses, and some feature distinct and powerful Mini-bosses instead. Once the player defeats a Boss, they will earn the trophy that looks like the golden replica of the Boss itself. The trophies will record the stats that include how many attempts it took to first defeat the Boss, and the date of completion. Some Bosses don't feature an official name and trophies (Stage 9, B1, B3). In Nightmare Difficulty, an additional Boss Bonus score is rewarded if the player defeats the Boss quickly enough.
Bosses are large enemies, featuring a wide variety of weapon systems on board, each consisting of armaments that act similarly to normal enemies. Some Bosses have multiple phases, each of which requires all concurrent armaments to be destroyed in order to progress. When all available weapons are eliminated, the entire Boss' body can be attacked, often causing spectacular explosions that fully destroy the Bosses and conclude the fight/stage. Bosses do not flee from battle, a Boss fight only ends if either the Boss is defeated or if the player's Plane is destroyed. Similar to regular enemies, the Boss' health, damage, firing frequencies and Star rewards increase along with higher Difficulty levels.
Destroyed Boss' armaments usually produce large quantities of Stars and points. Some armaments have a small chance to drops other item types, such as Health Restore and Laser power-ups. Each Boss' armament also contributes to existing Chain Bonuses.
First encounters with Bosses (different Difficulties included) often include unique quotes and voice lines, through which the story of the game progresses.

Summary of Each Boss[]
Below is a brief summary of each Boss. More information and strategy may be present in their respective main pages.
Stage 1 (Twisted Vengeance)[]
Appearance[]
Twisted Vengeance is a large attack helicopter with a six-blade rotor. The Boss is well-armored, given its appearance.
Armaments[]
- Located under each wing are a pair of guns that shoots bullets in barrages before reloading, which travels straight downward the screen.
- Located right above the cockpit is a Mantis Cannon Turret that shoots short chains of blue projectiles at the player's Plane.
Stage 2 (Spinning Retaliation)[]
Appearance[]
Spinning Retaliation is a gigantic attack helicopter, featuring signature contra-rotating rotors, each with four blades. A Scarlett Mantis' symbol can be seen on top of the rotors.
Armaments[]
- Located on each wing is a Mantis Cannon Turret, which shoots long streams of high-damaging bullets at the Plane.
- Attached to the nose of the Boss is a Laser Module that shoots twin streams of laser toward the bottom of the screen.
- Integrated within the rotors is a Radial Cannon, with infrequently shoots swarm of projectiles at all directions. This weapon is invulnerable.
Stage 3 (Canned Dread)[]
Appearance[]
Canned Dread is a well-armed tank, with a large six-barrel Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) appearing as the main weapon initially. Its' plate tracks are clearly visible on the sides.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
- Two Gatling Turrets at the front of the Boss shoot inexhaustible streams of slow bullets at the player.
- The MLRS discharges multiple volleys of inaccurate rockets before a long recharge. Initially aiming in a specific pattern, this armament will fire directly at the player once both Gatling Turrets are destroyed.
Phase 2[]
- Replacing the MLRS is a Spinning Laser Array, which shoots spiraling streams of laser at rapid paces. This weapon does not directly target the player.
- Two Rear Turrets rise up and shoot bullet clusters multiple times before reloading.
Stage 6 (Murky Huntress)[]
Appearance[]
Murky Huntress is a VTOL helicopter aircraft with a six-blade rotor on each wing. The rotors can rotate and change their angle during the fight.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
- On each rotor is a Mantis Cannon Turret that fires streams of bullets.
- Located on the cockpit is a Dual Cockpit Turret that rapidly shoots bullets toward the bottom of the screen. This armament is not phase-dependent; following phases progress even without its destruction and the turret may last until the end of the fight if left intact.
Phase 2[]
The rotors invert themselves, revealing Radial Cannons that shoot swarm of bullets in all directions, with significant intervals between volleys.
Phase 3[]
- On the sides of the aircraft are two Rocket Launchers that launch volley of inaccurate rockets toward the bottom of the screen.
- Located above the cockpit is a rapid-fire Turret, consistently shooting slow projectiles.
Stage 8 (Frying Falcon)[]
Appearance[]
Frying Falcon is an impressive plane, with many visible armaments and armor plates. Prior to the Boss fight, Frying Falcon can be seen flying above the player multiple times. During the fight, Frying Falcon constantly changes its flying pattern after every phase.
Armaments[]
Phase 1 - Cockpit[]
- Above the cockpit is a Rocket Launcher, which shoots three unguided rockets in separate fixed directions.
- Under each wing are pairs of Chain Guns that shoot connected streams of bullets. They swivel from side to side and create sweeping curves of bullets instead of directly targeting the player.
Phase 2 - Right Wing[]
- On the wing are two Radial Cannons that shoots swarm of bullets in all directions, multiple times before reloading.
- Between the Radial Cannons is a Turret that fires streams of large bullets at the Plane.
Phase 3 - Left Wing[]
Featuring the akin armaments as the previous phase, except for the attacking pattern of the Radial Cannons, which are now straight streams of bullets in all directions.
Phase 4 - Tail[]
- On the fuselage are three Radial Cannons that sequentially fire swarms of bullets in all directions. Only one is active at a time; the subsequent Cannons engage after the prior one is destroyed, each from bottom to top, accompanied by improved firing frequency.
- Mounted on each side of the Boss are groups of three Aft Gun Turrets (six in total), which shoot guided projectiles traveling at moderate speed and angles.
Stage 9 (Armored Dock Platform)[]
Appearance[]
Armored Dock Platform (unofficial name) is a giant metal platform with a shape of a hollow square frustum; a top square frame supported by four legs. It has a large hanging headlight that resembles one of Frying Falcon's Radial Cannons.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
Two columns of three turrets are located on opposite sides of the Boss, firing slow bullets at high frequency.
Phase 2[]
- A row of thirteen front Cannons emerges and fire chevron-shaped walls of bullets straight downward.
- Mounted on the far sides of the Boss are Flamethrowers, spraying long stream of fire straight downwards. When all of the Front Cannons are destroyed, the flamethrowers will swing from side to side, creating twisting barriers of flames.
Phase 3[]
- A previously active shield barrier dissipates, allowing the Dual Railgun Turret in the center to activate and be damaged. The Railgun Turret move volatilely in-between the frame while firing salvos of fast and powerful bullets between long recharges.
- As extra hazards, AA Mines descend from the top of the screen downward, attracting themselves toward the Plane when nearby and exploding on impact. These have larger radius than those normally found on Stage 9.
Stage 10 (Araneae Lebes)[]
Appearance[]
Araneae Lebes is a large spider walker robot, with a large Radial Cannon on top and frequently releasing green fumes. It is accompanied by four small Spider Walkers that power its protective shield via visible electric bolts.
Armaments[]
- Four accompanying Spider Walkers attack by firing streams of bullets.
- The Radial Cannon integrated within the main core discharges swarms of slow projectiles in multiple directions. The core can only be damaged when the shield is destroyed along with all four small Spider Walkers, after which the firing frequency and projectile speed increase dramatically.
- The Radial Cannon pauses after firing for a while, during which twelve Railgun Cannons emerge around the core, each firing a powerful railgun round at different directions in unison, from one to three times randomly. A loud mechanical whine and emitted green fumes are indications of these weapons.
Stage 11 (The Scarlet Heart)[]
The Scarlet Heart is Scarlett Mantis' final stand: a grand tank with extensive armor and a red-pink paint scheme, featuring multiple visible weapon systems.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
- On the sides of the Boss is a Gun Turret each, firing streams of bullets at the Plane multiple times before returning to its housing unit.
- Below each said Turrets on the front is a Laser Beam Array, which fires four lengthy streams of lasers straight downward. They pause after firing thrice, creating a window for the player to safely damage it.
Phase 2[]
- The Powerful Beam Cannon activates, firing a bright laser blast at the Plane, which on contact will swiftly destroy it and penetrate any active Energy Shields. Exclusive to mobile versions, the Cannon halts its rotation when firing.
- Four compartments at the front gradually activate their first layer of Gun Turrets, each of which fires slow bullets at moderate rate.
- Reducing the health of the Powerful Beam Cannon to 65% summons two nearby Railgun Cannons, which fire salvos of fast bullet rounds before retreating back to their housings.
Phase 3[]
- Two nearby Missile Launchers destroy the remains of the Beam Cannon, revealing a Radial Cannon underneath. The new armament unleashes continuous, spiraling and zig-zag patterns of projectiles in multiple directions, followed by a short cooldown.
- The four compartments activate their second layer of Gun Turrets, one each for every 10% health loss of the Radial Cannon. These fire hook-shaped projectiles travelling at moderate speed.
- Said Missile Launchers re-activate after half of the Radial Cannon's health is drained. They aim at the Plane and fire a trio of unguided rockets.
MLRS Launcher[]
After the third phase, the Boss launches a swarm of rockets upward and off-screen, which then converge and intersect each other near upon re-entry. Their trajectories are marked by yellow line indicators. The rockets spare a blind spot near the center of the screen, where the Plane can safely avoid the swarm all together.
Stage 13 ([Omega])[]
Omega (stylized as [Omega]) is the final Boss of the game's main storyline, appearing as a giant futuristic flying drone with many armor plates and four brightly glowing weaponized engines.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
- Two Gatling Cannons fire high-speed railgun projectiles forward the direction of the Boss, while Omega rotates itself in attempt to land those bullets on the Plane.
- Four Laser Turrets (a pair on each side) fire green laser streams, locking their rotation in the process. A protective shield guards them from damage until both Gatling Cannons are destroyed.
- After both Gatling Cannons are down, the front Laser Beam Cannon starts charging, producing a loud noise and blinding red lights. After all phase 1 armaments are down, the Cannon discharge a huge laser beam in the facing direction, while Omega rotates and sweep the screen with the beam for a short time. For now, this weapon is invulnerable.
Phase 2[]
Two housings at the Boss' rear rise up, revealing Missile Launchers that launch long volley of high-speed tracking missiles. After each volley, the housings close and enter a short cooldown.
Phase 3[]
All four weaponized engines ignite, followed by Omega rotating them around itself to align specific engines for the player to encounter. An isolated engine engages first, and the three remaining ones engage simultaneously after its destruction.
- The first sole engine shoots relentless radial waves of slow pink bullets. The dense field of bullets create little space for movement.
- Omega then rotates 180 degrees to reveal the remaining three engines, the first of which shoots radial rings of blue bullets that quickly converge at the Plane's location.
- The two accompanying engines share the same function: shooting rings of purple bullets that instead quickly converge directly downward the screen.
Phase 4[]
- Omega's Core arms itself with an electric field, which deals continuous damage to the player's Plane should they approach, similar to the Tase MeBro Technician.
- The Boss starts spinning as all four Laser Beam Cannons activate, unleashing huge laser beams in their facing directions and sweep the screen with them, requiring the player to move their Plane along. The powerful laser beams are capable of destroying the Plane within a fraction of a second and shatter any Energy Shield upon contact. After a few discharges, the Cannons pause as Omega inverts its spinning rotation before activating again.
- Omega raises four armor plates up to protect its Core, which can be destroyed. For each one destroyed, an adjacent Laser Beam Cannon will have its width greatly reduced. After all four armor plates are blown, the Core will finally be vulnerable to damage. Destroy the Core to finish phase 4.
Core Drones[]
To prevent the player from "cheesing" Omega by hovering over its body, the Core will summon one of three random Drone types to engage as an extra enemy throughout the entire Boss fight. When the Plane approaches, the Core will change its light from blue to red and release a Drone after tolerating for a while. The available types are:
- Type A - Fires slow radial spreads of bullets, has a slow movement speed.
- Type B - Summons small AA Mines (similar to those found on Stage 9), moves at moderate speed.
- Type C - Fires a very fast Energized Railgun Shell and moves at high speed. The only Drone to directly fire at the Plane.
Stage B1 (Quattropus)[]
Appearance[]
Quattropus (unofficial name) is a flying drone with four long arms, each comprised of Electric Pods and Sawblade Drones. The Boss' core is a larger Electric Pod that produces upward thrust via a visible light jet. The Boss enters the battle through a portal and retreat through it after being destroyed.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
- At the end of each arm is an invulnerable Sawblade Drone. Similar to those encountered throughout Stage B1, they deal high damage to the Plane through direct contact.
- Attached along each arm are four Electric Pods, which deal damage on collision.
Phase 2[]
Destroying all Electric Pods disables the shield guarding the Core and activates it. The Core is armed with four Dual Laser Beam modules, which fire two powerful red laser beams after a short charge. Only a single pair of opposite modules can simultaneously fire, alternating between each other after every reload.
Stage B3 (Lewiatan)[]
Appearance[]
Lewiatan (unofficial name, found within game files) is a large zeppelin with a dark gray color. Most of its weapons are hidden until activated. The middle of the fuselage is decorated with wings and three rotating engines that discharge flame, while the rear of the zeppelin has propellers and stabilizers.
Armaments[]
Phase 1[]
A rear roller shutter opens, revealing three Chain Guns underneath. These weapons spray long streams of decelerating bullets that converge with speed toward the Plane after a short time.
Phase 2[]
Two columns of three Radial Cannons each. They periodically shoot out six projectiles in different directions, forming a hexagonal shape.
Phase 3[]
Two panels slide to the sides and the Advanced Weapon Platform below ignites. The armament fire radial volleys of bullet in all direction multiple times, before discharging powerful laser beams in each angle between every two bullet streams. The lasers can penetrate active Energy Shields.
Phase 4[]
The Boss rotates to each side and rolls down housings containing a row of Cannons. These Cannons fire in waves with slight randomized delay, launching fast cannonballs straight toward the bottom of the screen, which shatter Energy Shields and are likely to destroy the Plane in one hit. Note that all Cannons are on the same weapon system; they share the same hit point and are destroyed all at once.
Bugs[]
- If the Player plays on Steam, uninstalls the game, and reinstalls the game, they have to do the introduction minigame before they can play. While their progress is not reset, the Boss's line of dialogue before and after the fight is reset.
- During Omega's third phase[1], destroying the first engine too quickly will cause the Boss to suddenly change its rotation and its remaining engines to appear off-screen. As their hitboxes are unable to be reached by the Plane's firepower, this bug softlocks the fight.
