Some changes | Fandom

This Wiki desperately needs some more love. Some of the pages are in second-person perspective, there need to be changes to the professionalism, and it's very difficult to find what to do.

One post mentioned merging the Sky Force Wikis, which is a good idea, but I have another idea. What if there was a Discord Server for this Wiki like there is for several others? It would make communication more accessible. If there's already a Sky Force Discord, it needs to be more well-known and have a Wiki channel.

Personally, I just want to see this wiki grow. Sky Force is such a hidden gem of a game series and I want it to see the love it deserves. Please respond when you see this.

How can creating a new Discord server be an alternative to merging the two wikis (sorry, I don't use Discord much)? Perhaps we can do both?

About the second-person thing, I think it's fine to use when strategies or tutorials are involved (personally, I think it is better than using "the player" everywhere). However, I agree that other sections, such as those that provide infos should not be written using 2nd or 1st person perspective (Bosses is a bad example of this, it's uncomfortable to read sometimes).

Also while being here, if we were to merge both wikis, is it fine to do so without the other admin's permission? They have been inactive for a long time.

I suppose doing both is the best case scenario here. Also, if the admins haven't been here for a while, they might not remember it exists, so I don't think it'd be bad to merge them. Maybe you can write a community post on whichever wiki stays alive to indicate the merging and Discord.

One month later, any progress on it? I've been checking EVERY day to see anything new because I care about this more than usual.

I apologize for the lack of progress since I'm quite busy with school recently. I'll make more progress on the wiki when I have more free time in the future.

One thing I've said above is that I'm very inexperienced with Discord, since I barely use the platform. I don't think I can handle creating and managing a Discord server (at least right now). Perhaps somebody dedicated enough can do it.

The final topic I'd like to talk about is that perhaps we can merge both wikis into a new destination by requesting the Fandom representative to create a new URL and then we move all pages and files to the new one. Both wikis are quite small, so in theory there shouldn't be much problem (though there must be an agreement between users first).

If you are genuinely interested in the wiki and is confident in your experience with Fandom, I might promote you to be a temporary administrator to aid with the merging process. You past edits seem to be in good faith, though there are quite few of them.

I'm looking forward to this discussion. Feel free to reply and once again, I apologize for the lack of progress.

Yeah, sorry about the lack of editing, I don't play the game terribly often. I respectively decline the opportunity of administrator, but I'm extremely familiar with Discord and it's Servers. I also have no idea how to merge a Fandom Wiki with another one. Obviously there would be a suggestion or idea channel to make it better if anyone has ideas for it, but I don't expect many members in the first place.

Anything else I can do? I'd be happy to oblige if it makes the Wiki more useful.

Another comment: I made the Discord Server and shared it on the Discussion and Title pages of both Wikis. I know you said you weren't that good with Discord, but it would make conversations between us much easier.

I also made a dozen edits today, mostly to Reloaded because it's personally easier to play. I doubt this winning streak will last very long as my interests are sporadic (which is also why I'm fearful for the Wiki's future.

I've also decided that I really want the Wikis to be merged together, possibly also including the 2004 release to make a Sky Force Series Wiki. It would make connections between the Wikis easier, such as between Arachnotron and Omega.

The consensus I can think of is that you're the only other person who edits the Reloaded Wiki, and I've been solo on the Anniversary one. I see no reason as to not merge those Wikis together into a single Sky Force Wiki. It would make both Wikis more popular, make references between pages easier, and probably lead to a better community overall.

Given the choice, I'd shut down Anniversary and move the pages to Reloaded, given that the latter is more popular and more people actually visit it.
